Saturday mornings 9am – 2pm – serene open-air flea market with plenty of food stalls and vegetarian options. Activities include a play area, mini gym, pony rides, mini fire truck and jumping castle

A monthly market show casing hand crafted, homemade and locally designed goods at Moses Mabhida Stadium

The Karkloof Farmers’ Market is a fresh produce market offering high quality, choice, fresh produce from local farmers and producers in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands

Hosts more than 150 stalls, half of which offer delectable organic food

Treat yourself to delish food, fantastic crafts and unique creations, all while enjoying amazing live entertainment at the Rooftop Night Market. There are also kid’s activities to keep the little ones entertained.

Head to the Hills

An affordable outing for the family would be to go out and explore our beautiful hills and landscapes!

Virginia Bush Nature Reserve is a 38 hectare coastal bush reserve in the suburb of Durban North.

Perfect spot to have a picnic with the family! Look out for concerts and events which can help make the day more memorable

The Valley of a Thousand Hills is a valley between Pietermaritzburg, and Durban. There's also an opportunity to take the kids on a vintage steam train ride

Time to explore the city! Enjoy a cultural expedition and guided tour walk with the entire family and learn more about Durban's hidden gems

A piece of wilderness at the mouth of the Ohlange River, Umhlanga Lagoon Nature Reserve is a popular destination for families who picnic and walk the wooden boardwalk

This farm is home to over 1000 animals, birds, reptiles, wolves, alpacas and of course Barney and Dora. The best part is that 80% of the animals are rescued. There are loads of activities and kids play areas as well!

Situated only 4 kilometres from the centre of the Kloof village, this nature reserve was established by the Natal Parks Board in 1950 and boasts an abundance of wildlife

It's time to let the kids run wild and get rid of some extra energy!

During the school holidays, Fun World is open till late! Enjoy the rides and have a beach picnic thereafter

The Wave House at Gateway’s Theatre of Shopping is a fantastic spot for the whole family. Its boasts two simulated waves known as Flow Riders which combine elements of surfing, snowboarding, wakeboarding, and skating all in one. These simulated waves are perfect for beginners, and there are professional instructors on-hand at all times

Conveniently located in Durban North, this is sure to be a fun exhilarating experience for the little ones! Splat balls are a lower impact paintball so you won't need to worry about them getting hurt - laser tag is also available

This is always a must in Durban. Go to the Sea World aquarium and marvel at the incredible sea creatures or take the plunge at the Wet ‘n Wild slides

You can go horse riding, biking or hiking at this amazing adventure park!

Take the family out for a braai/picnic and sit back and relax while your kids are entertained by an array of activities such as zorbing (rolling around inside a big transparent ball like a hamster), off-road go-karting, water balls and jumping castles

Overlooking the extraordinary Valley of a Thousand Hills, this park is sure to impress! Take a 4x4 game drive through the Phezulu Safari park, enjoy an exhilarating live crocodile show, or marvel at a wide variety of indigenous snakes

The skate park at North Beach is full of character and a fantastic place to take your kids if they've recently started showing interest in skate-boarding - follow it up with a beach day and you're good to go!
